Curious Alumni Award celebrates our alumni who work towards a better future, showcasing curiosity and courage. These alumni act as positive ambassadors for our university in the professional world, within Finnish society, or in an international context. The Curious Alumni may also engage in active collaboration with the university.
The CEO of Solar Foods and LUT’s energy technology alumnus Pasi Vainikka received the first ever Curious Alumni Award on Homecoming Day on 13 April 2024.
Who do you think should receive the Curious Alumni Award? The whole LUT community is encouraged to participate and influence the nomination of candidates.
The Alumni Coordinators compile a shortlist from the nominations, from which the Rectorate and Deans decide on the winner.
Curious Alumni Award will next be awarded in the spring 2025. Information on the nomination process and schedule will be updated on this page.
A Curious Alumni Award winner is someone who:
- has actively contributed to creating a better future,
- has demonstrated a curious, courageous, and solution-oriented attitude in professional life nationally or internationally.
