Future Talents Lahti program strengthens cooperation between LUT universities and local companies in Lahti region. The program’s goal is to connect our students with local companies during their studies and increase employment in the region upon graduation. Almost 30 local companies are participating in the program, engaging in various forms of cooperation such as projects, excursions, guest lectures, and events. Companies also offer internship positions, thesis opportunities, and summer jobs to students.
The program runs from 2023 until the end of 2025.
In cooperation with
Win-win situation for the companies and the students
Strong cooperation with companies gives university students a chance to learn to apply the theory to practice. Real-life cases make studying more motivational, teach general working skills, and help students to create networks with potential employers. Participating companies get to have the latest information and knowledge from LUT and LAB throughout this program and a good chance to get to know universities future talents.
“It was really important for us to join the Future Talents Lahti project, because we’ve had a really big skills shortage, like many other automation companies. We got involved to make Lahti City, LUT, and LAB a more attractive place for good talent to come to. Through this program, we can find great talent for our company.” says Johanna Vuopala, CEO of Makron Group. In this video you can also hear Tomi Ilonen, LSK Group, and Rita Mäkinen, Esys Oy, and their thoughts about university collaboration.
