Registrating to open university courses
Open university courses are enrolled in SISU. By selecting "Continue without logging in" you can access the course search. Then select the tab "Open University selection"
To see the full range of courses offered by the Open University, enter three special characters in the search field (e.g. ''' or ***) and click search. You can filter the search results using various filters.
You can also search for courses using the filters only. For example, Sales period -> Offered currently filter will show you courses for which enrollment is currently open.
The course fee is paid upon registration and it is binding. Please read the course description and the payment and cancellation instructions carefully before enrolling.
Open University students have quotas for undergraduate courses. Places are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
There are four teaching periods during the academic year: two in the autumn semester and two in the spring semester. Go to eLUT study portal to find more information about the timetables for the academic year.

Study fees and terms of cancellation
The price per course is €15 per credit. The price therefore depends on the scope of the course, for example, a 6-credit course costs €90.
Registration for the course is binding, and the course fee is not refundable. Cancellations due to illness will not entitle for a refund. It is not possible to transfer a paid course fee from one course to another.
If the course is cancelled, you will be refunded the course fee in full by the LUT Open University.
The fees at the Open University are based on government decrees (1082/2009) and (199/2024).
According to the act on the collection of taxes and fees (Laki verojen ja maksujen täytäntöönpanosta 706/2007), course fees are public receivables and as such distrainable without special measures.
