DBOSI’s main purpose is to help junior and senior scholars with the development of their early work. We provide an opportunity to present and discuss work-in-progress, build professional networks with scholars with similar interests, interdisciplinary exchange innovative ideas, and learn of the state-of-the-art on the fast-developing research field.
Submissions using a variety of theoretical and methodological perspectives are welcome. Both conceptual and empirical papers are welcome from PhD students, young scholars, and senior scholars alike.
We welcome submissions on themes such as:
- Digital transformation
- Digital innovation
- Digital platforms and ecosystems
- Digitalization, responsibility, and sustainability
- The role of data and AI in work and organizing
- The impact of Generative AI on individuals, organizations, industries, and ecosystems
- Human-AI relationships: automation, augmentation, co-innovation
- The role of trust in digital transformation and organizing
- Collaboration systems and technology
- Decision-making, data, and AI
- Knowledge, innovation, and organizing in digital contexts
- Digital strategy and digital strategizing
These themes are suggestions, and we are also open to other topics related to the workshop’s overall theme.
Participants are expected to be present throughout the workshop, comment on each other’s work, and actively contribute to the discussions.
In addition to paper presentations, there will be keynotes and panel discussions and debates by both practitioners and academics. Keynotes includes Prof. Dr. Kalle Lyytinen, Case Western University: 'Theorizing in the age of digital transformation', Associate Professor Cristina Alaimo, ESSEC Business School: 'Data rules and ecosystem governance', and Head of Cloud Software and Data Mikko Kotola, Kempower: 'Data in the EV charging station business – types of value and enablers'. Additional keynotes to be announced.
We look forward to enjoyable discussions and learning in a friendly and constructive environment in the spirit of a developmental scholarly workshop.
If you are interested in presenting your ongoing research and would like to receive feedback from leading scholars in the field, please submit an extended abstract of no more than 2000 words (excluding references and tables). The submission deadline is Saturday 30th November. Participants will be informed of the acceptance by Friday 13th December 2024.
