Integwork - The integration of employed migrants

Employment is often considered synonym to being integrated and therefore there are few integrations services available for employed migrants. Previous studies have however shown that employment does not automatically provide opportunities for language learning or the building of social networks. Our project seeks to understand and to critically estimate what are the barriers and enablers for the integration into society of employed migrants. We look at this from the perspective of migrants and employers comparatively in Finland and the UK. Our project aims to find what policies and services would better support migrants in their integration.
