The new business operations of research-based start-ups and the jobs they create are a key engine for the renewal of South Karelia's business life. The manufacturing technology industry also creates jobs in logistics, mechanisation, maintenance and construction, thus offering new business and job opportunities also to entrepreneurs and their employees who have given up peat production.

Goals
The concrete goal of the project is to accelerate the process of generating new research project and business ideas, which will enable the emergence of new R2B projects funded by LUT Business Finland, which aim to produce new science-based start-ups in South Karelia.
The project develops a new innovation process at LUT University, especially for young Finnish and international researchers. The aim of the project is to highlight the potential and ideas of the young generation of researchers to increase the societal impact of LUT University regionally and nationally.
