The Curious People Alumni Webinar discusses about different perspectives of growth and internationalization on 13 November.
The hype of rapid growth has been, and still is, strong in Finland. Firms growing at a moderate pace and with bearable risks are very little discussed. While it is okay to grow fast in certain circumstances, what actually happens to these companies after the first years or decades? What is their mentality of existence? How are the individuals behind them?
We argue that there should be more discussion on moderate, controlled growth and internationalization. This would build a strong discourse around sustainable growth, which aligns with the principles of sustainability. Sustainability, in this context, refers to the ability of a firm to remain viable for decades while adhering to the principles of sustainable development goals.
Experts of the webinar are international entrepreneurship researchers from LUT Business School: Full professor (tenured) Tanja Leppäaho, Post-doctoral researcher Satu Vesin and Associate professor Lasse Torkkeli.
