Education cooperation

LUT University is a public university in Finland, providing education in the fields of technology, business and social sciences. Our international community consists of 7 500 members of more than 90 different nationalities, engaged in scientific research and academic education.

High-level research, international collaboration and sustainability are at the heart of LUT’s success. LUT University is in the process of establishing EULiST – a joint European university. EULiST Alliance integrates over 200,000 students and 20,000 staff at 10 universities in 10 countries.

One of the key partnerships is through the EULiST University Alliance—European Universities Linking Society and Technology—which encompasses 200,000 students and 20,000 staff members across 10 countries.

Unforgettable exchange experience

LUT University welcomes every year around 200 exchange students to its Lappeenranta campus located by beautiful Lake Saimaa.

The international student community at LUT University is strong and there are plenty of cultural theme nights, parties and all sorts of get-togethers organized.

LUT offers for exchange students a wide variety of courses taught in English in the fields of business and technology. We are excited to announce that starting from spring 2025 we also welcome students in the fields of social sciences and communication sciences.

Application instructions and deadlines

LUT University has several double degree agreements which allows deeper educational cooperation with those partner universities. Double degree partners are usually long term partnerships which has started with regular student mobility, and then developed into double degree cooperation.

LUT encourage students to complete their degree by a double degree in a partner university to further develop their professional and personal skills. LUT  welcomes annually many double degree students from its double degree partners.

Currently LUT has double degree programmes with partner universities from China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Rwanda, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands and The United States of America.

All degree programmes which are taught in English in LUT are open for new double degree proposals.

LUT Summer School aims to both challenge and inspire students with exceptional academic opportunities and an entertaining cultural experience and social programme.
