Leading power-to-x technology research in Finland
We at LUT research power-to-x (P2X) technology which basic idea is to transform electricity into another form of energy – and back to electricity if needed. For years, we have published scientific reports about the strategic possibilities of hydrogen economy in Finland.
Power-to-x is a key technology in addressing carbon dioxide emissions from industry and transport. Because burning and combustion release harmful emissions into the atmosphere, the goal is to create a world where energy and food are produced with renewable electricity. Instead of releasing emissions, raw materials for the production would be captured from the air. This new system is called a hydrogen economy.
