Final grades
Scale of grades at LUT:
5 = Excellent
4 = Very good
3 = Good
2 = Satisfactory
1 = Passable
0 = Failed
Some courses apply the grading H = passed, 0 = failed.
Grades are recorded on an official LUT or LAB transcript along with the course name and credits earned. Grades are given in accordance with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). For conversion to US and Australian credits: 1 ECTS credit = 0.5 US credits = 0.8 UTS credits.
Certificates
At the end of LUT Summer School, international students receive two documents: a certificate of attendance and an official transcript of study records:
- All international students receive general certificate of attendance at the end of the summer school.
- Official transcripts of records including the course name(s) and credits earned will be mailed to students in September. Credits completed on master's level courses will be on the LUT University transcript.
Credits earned during LUT Summer School are transferrable to your home institution. If you want to transfer your LUT Summer School grades to degree programmes at your home institution, check with your advisors about transfer policies and procedures before registering for LUT Summer School courses.
LUT and LAB students
LUT and LAB students may also receive a separate certificate of attendance if they wish (ask for one from the summer school staff). LUT and LAB students can see their grades in the Sisu and Peppi systems; transcripts will not be mailed to them.
