This master's programme will expose you to theory that will help you understand and evaluate current and future challenges involving new digital technologies. You will learn to use social sciences research methodology, various data sources, and digital tools to explore and analyse these challenges. Who is this programme for?
This programme is for you if you are deeply interested in understanding and tackling societal and political challenges from different theoretical perspectives and through a variety of research methods. This programme prepares you to make informed, evidence-based decisions to address current and future issues. In addition, you have
- preferably a social science or business degree, but also other degrees are accepted;
- a curiosity about the multifaceted challenges that our societies face and a desire to solve complex problems;
- an interest in understanding the current and future challenges that our societies face from different perspectives.

What will you learn in the programme?
The Master’s Programme in Digital Social Science teaches you to
- critically evaluate current and future societal and political challenges by applying different theoretical perspectives supported by empirical data;
- understand the challenges and opportunities presented by current and emerging digital technologies to society;
- make informed, evidence-based decisions concerning current and future societal and political challenges, including ones presented by new digital technologies.
These skills will enable you to take on roles and make decisions in businesses and public and third-sector organisations addressing these challenges and make a positive impact on our future.
Degree structure and studies
The Master's Programme in Digital Social Science is a two-year programme. It leads to the degree of Master of Social Sciences, M.Soc.Sc., which is 120 ECTS credits.
