Biography

Denanjalee Gunaratne (PhD, University of Glasgow, United Kingdom) is a project researcher at the LUT University, Finland. She has previously worked at the University of Glasgow, United Kingdom and the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. Her research focuses on the intersection of sustainability and international business, with particular interests in Industry 4.0 technologies, business model innovation, developing countries, and apparel global value chains.

I focus on how international businesses can help address societal grand challenges. Currently, my research projects revolve around three main topics: the bright and dark sides of digital globalization, sustainable business model innovation, and social, environmental, and economic upgrading in global value chains.
