Biography

I am an academic energy professional with a long history of energy education and research. I have in-depth understanding concerning renewables and the recent developments in the energy sector. The focus areas in my research activitites have been renewable energy and energy systems. Since 2020 my teaching has been focused on engineering mathematics instead of energy themes. I have worked in a wide range of research projects at Aalto University with significant managerial and research responsibilities. My strongest expertise is in simulations of various kinds of energy related phenomena and systems. I also have strong background in engineering physics and some experience on collecting and working with interview-based field data. In research management I have good experience in planning projects and applying public funding. My recent research (as in spring 2020) topics include public use and view on renewable energy as well as rural electrification business in developing countries. Continuous improvement and development of methods is an important part of my teaching concept. Since Autumn 2020 as I moved to LUT University my teaching focus has moved to engineering mathematics. Earlier (since 2006) I have been lecturing on energy economics and systems and related topics. I
