Fines and fees

The customer will lose his/her borrowing rights when his/her fines reach 15 € or when the customer's loan is 28 days overdue.

Customer's borrowing rights will be returned when the patron has paid all his/her fines and returned the overdue loans. The library will invoice the patron for the items that are not returned (a month after the due date).

Interlibrary lending for staff of LUT and LAB is free of charge whenever it is related to the work or to the postgraduate studies. LUT and LAB students may order 3 interlibrary loans free of charge whenever the interlibrary lending is related to the thesis work.

Guidance in information retrieval and the use of databases is free of charge for all students and the staff of LUT and LAB.

Other customers are guided free of charge max. 30 minutes. LUT Academic Library does not accept paid commissions for information retrieval.

Education to students and staff of LUT and LAB is free of charge Mon-Fri 8:00 – 18:00.

Education is subject to charge when lessons are held outside of the above-mentioned hours or when information literacy education is part of a course, that is subject to a charge for example training or development services, run by LUT or LAB.

If the teaching takes place outside of the LUT and LAB premises, travelling expense and daily allowance will be charged.
