Biography

My current research mainly focuses on transportation of hydrogen. Hydrogen has been seen to play a significant role in building of a carbon neural society. In many cases, hydrogen production and consumption are located in different sites, and therefore low-cost, energy efficiency, and low carbon transportation options are needed.

I finished my doctoral thesis in the end of 2022. The topic of the thesis was the role of the forest industry in mitigating global change: towards energy efficient and low-carbon operation. I mostly studied the energy transition of pulp and paper industry (PPI). The PPI has great potential to participate in fossil CO2 emissions reduction by improving energy efficiency and switching fossil fuels to bio-based alternatives. Moreover, pulp mills provide an interesting platform for bioenergy carbon capture (BECCS), and pulp and paper industry products can serve as carbon storages or substitutes for fossil materials. Also, integration of power-to-x processes into pulp mill environment is of my interest.
