Biography

Yoshiaki Kawajiri is a Visiting Professor at Separation Science, LUT Universit, as well as a Professor at the Department of Materials Process Engineering, Nagoya University, Japan. Prof. Kawajiri completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Kansai University in Japan, and joined Organo Corporation in 1999. He obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University in the United States in 2007. After completing his postdoctoral study at Max Planck Institute in Magdeburg, Germany, he was an Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor with tenure at Georgia Institute of Technology in the United States from 2008 until 2017. His research interests are modeling, design, and optimization of chemical processes utilizing numerical, statistical, and experimental techniques. Some examples of his studies include CO2 capture, reactive adsorption, crystallization, and simulated moving bed chromatography.
