I graduated from Vietnam National University and had a stable job in Vietnam for some time. Everything seemed to be going well, but I realized that my life had always been comfortable, surrounded by family and an environment I was familiar with. At the same time, I discovered my passion for supply chain management through my work in Vietnam.
While searching for a strong supply chain management program, LUT University caught my attention. The Master's Programme in Supply Management perfectly aligned with my desire to deepen my knowledge.
The curriculum builds on a foundation of business administration and expands into general supply chain management, covering key areas in sourcing and procurement in detail.
Back to school
After three years in the professional world, transitioning back to being a student in Lappeenranta was both exciting and challenging for me. I was happy to return to an academic environment, focusing on research and assignments and fully immersing myself in student life. LUT University’s library became one of my favorite places—it is modern, peaceful, and well-equipped with great facilities. My friends could mostly find me there before or after classes.
Seasonal changes
Living in a shared apartment with international friends was also a new experience for me. We often cooked and shared traditional dishes from our home countries, creating cherished memories.
Initially, I thought living far from my family in a Nordic country would be difficult. Coming from a sunny coastal country, adapting to the dark and cold winters in Lappeenranta was a challenge. However, experiencing the different seasons and adjusting to the new environment helped me grow stronger and more independent.
Return to office life
I am currently working as an operational purchasing trainee, and my studies at LUT University have greatly supported me in this role.
The programme provided me with a strong foundation of knowledge, the ability to analyze business situations, and the skills to apply theoretical concepts to practical challenges.
The combination of academic learning and real-world applications has been invaluable in preparing me for my career.
