Kouvola will host the Think Track Hackathon in January 2025. In the hackathon, students will contribute to the urban development of the Kouvola area by creating new concepts and envisioning what a successful business in Kouvola will look like in 2035. The event organisers are LUT University, South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk), Kouvola Innovation (Kinno), and City of Kouvola.
The program will include keynotes, mentoring, and presentations, for instance. Students will be able to enjoy free hotel accommodation and a diverse evening program which allows them to network with other participants.
Participants will learn about agile development and how to turn ideas quickly into concepts by combining technology and creativity. The event also promotes internationalization and cooperation between cultures.
“The Think Track Hackathon was the best part of my stay in Finland. It was an amazing experience: I enjoyed the collaborative energy and the chance to work with diverse people dedicated to making a positive impact on Kouvola. The event was all about creativity and teamwork, and it was incredibly rewarding to see our ideas come together in a way that could truly benefit the community,” reflects Muhammad Shaheer, who participated in the event last year.
