I am currently on academic leave from my previous academic positions and engaged in studies and research at the University of Tallinn. Previously, I served a full term as Rector of the Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences (EUAS) and held professorships at Tallinn University of Technology (TUT) and EUAS. Now focusing on the interdisciplinary field of nature and management. I also served as Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the Estonian Ministry of Justice and worked in various roles in team and project management, as well as software engineering, in different companies. I bring nearly thirty years of experience in both academia and industry.

My current research focuses on organizational botany, strategic management, smart cities, startups, and innovation. I hold a D.Sc. (Tech.) from Lappeenranta University of Technology in Finland and have received several research awards. 

I am also an active visitor to the gym and I enjoy spending time in nature, walking, hiking, supporting students and reading scientific and popular science literature across various fields, including biology, AI, physics, and engineering.
