I have over 25 years of work experience. I have worked in a few large companies in Finland in the industry sector. My whole career I have worked in an international environment and in different parts of the world. At the beginning of my career, I worked in various financial accounting and reporting positions, but quite quickly I started to move to the IT side. In IT, I have focused on the implementation, development, and maintenance of ERP and business systems. Business process development, strong cooperation with the business, and leading IT experts have also been strongly “on my desk” in my career. Currently, I work in strategic planning and execution tasks, which has expanded my work field to completely new themes, such as leadership and organizational development.
I originally graduated from college accounting as major after high school in the nineties. Due to my curious and knowledge-thirsty nature and career development, I have continued my studies while working, first completing a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance in the early 2000s, and now most recently a Master's degree in knowledge management and leadership.
I applied to the mentoring programme because I am interested in a coaching approach to leadership, and I feel that this program allows me to practice this skill from a different perspective than in working life. I also feel that my own experience in working life could be of some benefit to a student who is still considering their own direction. In addition, I want to stay somehow involved in the good rhythm of LUT as an alumna.
