Since 2020, LUT University and the Marjatta and Eino Kolli Foundation have been awarding a EUR 30,000 prize to give recognition to innovations, solutions or acts that significantly increase value added from Finnish forests.
The prize may be awarded to a person or organisation who has succeeded in increasing the value added of forests or in establishing the conditions or creating opportunities for doing so. In addition to the traditional forestry sector, the award may be used also to give recognition to other ways that forest-related value added has been highlighted.
At the event, we will announce the winner of the 2024 Metsä360 Award as well as the top entries in the Metsä360 competition for young people.
Candidates for the award in 2024 are Puuppolan Suksi PUSU, the Finnish Forest Museum Lusto and Uute Scientific. The candidates were elected by an expert panel of LUT University and the Kolli Foundation.
- In Finland, Puuppolan Suksi, or PUSU, crafts modern downhill skis from wood and wood-based materials by hand.
