LUT University's new board will serve a four-year term which started on 1 January 2022. It will hold four annual meetings. The meeting dates are 30 March, 16 June, 16 September and 8 December.
Teresa Kemppi-Vasama was elected as the chair of LUT's new board. She is serving her second term on the board and represents especially entrepreneurship. She is the head of the family-owned welding industry company Kemppi, which was founded over 70 years ago, and she also has extensive knowledge of the international electronics industry through Kempower, which was listed in December.
Liisa Rohweder was elected as the vice-chair. Rohweder has had a lengthy career at WWF in Finland and internationally, and she brings her strong expertise in environmental and climate issues to the board. Her current term on the LUT board is her third.
Executive committee consists of the chair, vice-chair and Ahti Jaatinen-Värri
The executive committee of the LUT board contributes to the preparation of the board's decision proposals and carries out other duties assigned by the board. The executive committee consists of the board's chair and vice-chair and Associate Professor Ahti Jaatinen-Värri.
Investment committee includes the chair and Paavo Ritala
In addition to the chair of the LUT board, Professor Paavo Ritala was elected to the investment committee. Pär-Gustaf Relander, M.Sc. (Tech.), from the board of the LAB University of Applied Sciences is also a member. The investment committee steers the practical implementation of the investment strategy of LUT Universities.
