Azeem Akbar
Biography
Muhammad Azeem Akbar is an associate professor of software engineering at LUT University, Finland. Akbar obtained PhD Software Engineering at Chongqing University, China, in January 2019. He has done Post-Doctorate with Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Nanjing, China in January 2021. During, January 2021 to August 2021, he worked with LERO-The Irish Software Research Centre, Ireland, as a senior researcher and work on Huawei’s ‘Software Trustworthy’ project. He taught and designed several courses related to software engineering at LUT University. He received the ‘excellence in teaching,’ ‘excellence in instructional technology, and ‘excellence in academic advising’ awards from LUT University. He is an active researcher in the field of software engineering and has published more than 150 articles in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. He has worked as a principal and co-investigator in several research projects investigating issues related to software process improvements and global software development and quantum software engineering projects. Currently, he is working as project manger of 6GSoft: 6G software for extremely distributed and heterogeneous massive networks of connected devices. His research interest includes empirical software engineering, blockchain based software engineering, quantum software engineering, 6G software, ethics of AI and IoT, software security, global software development, software requirements engineering and change management, DevOps and DevSecOps and software process improvement in general. He actively conducts publication-based research workshops, serves as a guest editor for major software engineering journals, and edits software engineering research books.
