Janne Hokkanen

Mr. Janne Hokkanen works as a Strategy Director at Lappeenranta-Lahti University of
Technology (LUT) and LAB University of Applied Sciences. His primary tasks are following
the implementation of university strategy and public relations in region, national and
international level.
Before his current job Mr. Hokkanen worked as Director of study and international
affairs at LUT. He has been building and running service oriented study service
organization, first at LUT only, then Saimaa UAS and LUT joint services and finally LUT
and LAB joint services in two cities.
Hokkanen also has extensive international experience from the university world. He has
been building several international cooperation between universities and has been
heavily involved in international student recruitment more ten years.
He has also worked for executive education, international affairs at the university.
Hokkanen has been working at LUT since 2001.
Hokkanen has graduated from Lappeenranta University of Technology 1.3.2002. He has
Master of Science (Tech) in the field of Industrial Engineering and Management. He was
visiting student at University of North Carolina Greensboro (UNCG) during the academic year
1998-99.
