I received Ph.D. in Economics and Business Administration in 2014 at Lappeenranta University of technology. My research is grounded on the traditions of strategic management and organizational theory. In particular, I focus on questions related to media and media management, analyzing managerial and organizational practices, capabilities, mindsets, and cultures in the context of media and digital transformation. I am experienced in longitudinal case studies and fieldwork in media companies. Currently, I am Project Manager of an international research project at LUT on media responsibility and sustainable business models funded by Helsingin Sanomat Foundation. I am also Principal Investigator of a project conducted in collaboration with University of Trento to carry out an experimental study on media managers’ decision-making procedures. I have been a visiting scholar at Stanford University (SCANCOR), Jönköping University and Tallinn University. I actively participate in the Erasmus teacher exchange to teach Media Management and Economics outside Finland. Before joining academia, I had a long career at the Finnish Broadcasting Company both as journalist and manager.
