The benefits of calculations and practical applications of investments of systems, processes and software are introduced publicly. A major part of the project is the utilization and certification of international standards, which enable the SME’s to be part of the bigger international markets. The focus group of the project is the welding production workshops in the South Karelia region.
Project goals
The goal of the project is to enhance the competitiveness and profitability of welding workshops in the South Karelia region with the help of joint development, networking, digital tools, automation and process development, as well as quality management and standards.
Through networking and joint development, the goal is to increase the cooperation potential of companies and the transparency of information sharing and production. With the help of cooperation and information sharing, the goal is to increase specialization and to create a basis for new business areas. In addition, the goal is to create a clear, simple and low-threshold discussion network where companies can easily search for current information, communicate with other companies, educational institutions and the city of Lappeenranta, and get answers to questions pressing companies. Information is created and shared on the channel, related to both financial and production-oriented problems.
In addition, the goal is to encourage companies to develop operations and make investments with the help of additional information in terms of advice, information sharing, investigations and reports. The goal is also to strengthen the mutual connections of the participating companies and to grow networking into a knowledge and innovation ecosystem based on the R&D work carried out in the project.
