Hydrogen(H2) has the potential to play a key role in a clean, secure and affordable energy future. The present goal of the European Union (EU) (RePowerEU, Green Deal, Fit for 55) is to switch over to renewable hydrogen with 10 Mt/a own production and 10 Mt/a import by 2030. JustH2Transit is an ambitious initiative strategically designed to pave the way for Finland to become a pioneer of justified and sustainable H2 transition. The multidisciplinary consortium drives towards climate neutral, justified and sustainable H2 transition through strategic research, interaction, involvement and dissemination. To reach this goal, we will carry out transdisciplinary research towards:
- Providing a holistic view of the H2 transition and its impacts,
- Enabling the transition by removing bottlenecks and catalysing enablers, and
- Justifying the H2 transition by boosting social acceptance and engaging the diversity of stakeholders into discussion.
